Katelyn is graduating this spring from her undergrad at Biola University. I was thrilled when the McNeely Family told me they had another reason for me to photograph for them (remember Abbee and Justin’s engagement session at Tempe Beach Park?). I kinda/sorta stalked Katelyn via facebook leading up to our session (we had never actually met) to get a feel for who she was. When I finally got to sit down with her, I quickly decided I liked this fun, super chill chick who wanted to photograph in a nature setting and was up for anything. She showed me her outfit selection and my thoughts were, “um….YES!”. Ha. Katelyn included some really meaningful elements into her session: flannel shirt and hat from her grandfather who held a special place in her heart, vintage books passed down through the family line, and a bright red apple to represent her dream of being a teacher. Katelyn had me laughing with her free spirit and confidence as we shot away in the beautiful scenes of the desert. Speaking of the desert–we were notified by a very passionate park ranger (after we had explored much of the space and gotten some pretty amazing shots) that the space was off limits. Thankfully we were about to move on anyway… :). What made this session so magnificent was the dreamy desert palette–Arizona is so beautiful in the spring. Enjoy! 🙂

Oh yes, and many, many thanks to Mariana Marie Makeup and Hair Designer for giving Katelyn such a great look with hair+makeup. The pictures would not be the same without her talent!
