“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earths.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, everyone of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalm 139: 13-16
I’m blown away with this miracle of life. These words from the ancient king David talking about his relationship to his creator have never been more real to me as we find ourselves embracing this miracle of conception. We can’t feel it, see it, or even fully understand it, but somehow one cell becomes many and suddenly, just weeks later, there’s the tiniest of bodies already evident. We are overwhelmed with this miracle of life that God has planted in my womb, and our hearts couldn’t be more full. We are so proud of this little guy (or girl) already!
Many, many thanks to our talented friends Brushfire Photography who took these lovely images of us on film (a personal favorite!) just two days after we found out the news. Love that we had our love captured just one more time before we welcome this little life into our arms. Thanks also to my favorite, Mariana Marie, for giving me a great look with hair & makeup for our shoot, and for helping me keep the secret :).
We are overjoyed and amazed at the grace of God in our lives to bestow on us such an incredible gift. We appreciate your prayers and the joining with us in celebration as we prepare to parent this little life!

And, in case you’re wondering…what does it mean for CMP? Well, not too much. I will be continuing to book 2014 weddings with the exception of the months of April-June to prepare, birth, and adjust with baby. With already 5 weddings down since we found out, I’m pretty much feeling like a rockstar and ready to finish out a fantastic fall & spring season!!
